Sitamarhi: The police administration is on alert to strengthen road safety and improve the traffic system in Sitamarhi district of Bihar. In such a situation, the Roko-Toko campaign has been intensified by the police administration. On the instructions of the SP, an intensive vehicle checking campaign was conducted on Wednesday at various intersections, markets and main roads of the district. The police team under the leadership of Traffic Station Head Prashant Kumar checked helmets, seat belts, valid documents and other traffic rules. During this campaign, drivers were made aware of following the rules. At the same time, action was taken against those who were negligent without any concessions.
Heavy fine imposed on drivers
Traffic police station chief said that the main objective of the campaign is to prevent road accidents and ensure smooth traffic in the city. Regarding this, the police strictly checked the vehicles in every crowded area. Where the drivers who broke the rules were explained on the spot and if necessary, fines were also imposed. He said that the safety of the general public is paramount. Therefore, there will be no laxity in following the rules.
Rs 9 lakh recovered
The action of fine was also vigorous in this campaign. On Wednesday alone, a challan worth Rs 3 lakh 5 thousand was issued. Earlier, Rs 1 lakh 51 thousand was recovered on Monday, Rs 2 lakh 48 thousand 500 on Sunday and Rs 2 lakh 6 thousand on Saturday. A total fine of more than Rs 9 lakh has been collected in four days. Due to the continuous action, an atmosphere of panic is being seen among the drivers. At the same time, those who follow the rules have appreciated this campaign of the police.
Traffic rules explained to drivers
Inspector Prashant Kumar did not just punish the drivers during the campaign. But also explained them the importance of safe driving and rules. He said that traffic rules are not just laws but important rules related to life safety. Police have appealed to the general public to be careful on the road, carry necessary documents and follow traffic rules.
