Delhi government is focusing on three-wheelers

Electric tricycle auto prices up to 26 percent
Kailash Gehlot said that under the EV policy by Delhi government, the subsidy given on electric three-wheelers reduces their price by 26 percent. About 29 thousand rupees can be saved annually by purchasing an electric three wheeler auto. Similarly, the subsidy on electric e-rickshaw reduces its price by 33 percent.
177 tricycle models available in the market
Under Delhi’s EV policy, 177 three-wheeler models are available for purchase and 68 manufacturers are offering scrap incentives. This initiative of the Delhi Government is being praised by the Delhiites to carry forward the campaign. Sunil Kumar, who bought a three-wheeler electric vehicle, says, ‘This e-rickshaw earns my livelihood. It has helped me a lot in financial savings. I have received a subsidy of 30 thousand rupees. I will urge three-wheeler owners in Delhi to switch to e-rickshaws. ‘

Delhi’s EV policy and the Switch Delhi campaign have been appreciated not only by environmentalists, but also by big personalities and entrepreneurs. Eminent environmentalist Eric Solehim tweeted that Delhi is moving fast towards electric mobility. Film actor Ranvir Shorey tweeted that the Clean Government of Delhi Government is commendable and other governments should also follow this model. President of the Electric Vehicle Manufacturers Society, Ashwani Sehgal said that the Delhi Government’s electric vehicles policy is beneficial to the general public along with encouraging industries.

Significantly, the Delhi government has been giving a subsidy of 30 thousand rupees for the promotion of e-rickshaws for the last few years. After the EV policy, the same subsidy is being given on e-cart loaders and e-autos. Up to Rs 7500 is being given for scraping and de-registering old CNG auto rickshaws registered in Delhi. Road tax and registration fee is also waived for all electric three wheelers. In Delhi, e-auto can become a means of traveling to any place.
