Ghaziabad. One girl… two marriages… and a lover on the run from the law. A unique and shocking case has come to light in Uttar Pradesh, where a minor lover got his girlfriend married to his own cousin to avoid legal trouble. A complaint was registered in this matter, the police came into action, but it was as if the girl and the youth had dissolved into thin air. No one had any idea that this disappearance would later turn into the most bizarre ‘marriage deal’. When the police investigated after recovering the minor girl who was missing for about two months, the entire conspiracy was exposed. Ghaziabad Police has arrested a total of five people including the main accused lover Himanshu.
On September 27, a farmer had lodged a report about his minor daughter suddenly missing from home. The father had filed a case against three youths from the neighboring village, accusing them of luring them away. Police conducted a raid on a tip-off on Saturday and the girl was recovered. Her lover Himanshu and his associates were also caught. When the interrogation started, the girl revealed such secrets one by one that even the policemen were surprised.
Girlfriend got married to brother
During interrogation, the girl told that she had left home with Himanshu, a resident of village Myana. Both of them got married in a temple in Allahabad (Prayagraj) on November 11. But the real turning point came when both of them reached the threshold of Ghaziabad court for the court marriage. During the legal process in the court, it was revealed that the girlfriend had now become an adult, but the age of her lover Himanshu was still less than 21 years.
Girl married brother of both
Legally, it is mandatory for a man to be 21 years of age for marriage. Due to age restrictions, the lawyer flatly refused to get the court marriage done for both of them. After this, the young man started fearing that his girlfriend’s family might implicate him in a case of kidnapping and sexual exploitation. To avoid legal action, Himanshu made a cunning plan. On December 4, he got his girlfriend married to his cousin Chirag in Ghaziabad court.
what does the law say
The only purpose of this marriage was to save herself from legal troubles by showing the girl as married to an adult. But the police have arrested Himanshu, cousin Chirag and three other associates in this entire case. A case has been registered against the arrested people under sections related to kidnapping, illegal marriage and obstructing the legal process. The police is investigating whether cousin Chirag was also completely involved in this conspiracy?
Overall, to escape the legal clutches and family pressure, a minor lover took a strange and dangerous decision. He got his minor girlfriend, who had gone missing from home two months ago, married to his cousin. The police disclosed the entire matter in the investigation and arrested a total of five people including the lover and his cousin.
