Rapid Rail’s test run at full speed will start from today, you will be surprised to know the speed!

New Delhi. The full speed test run of the country’s first rapid rail i.e. RRTS will start from today. During this the train covered 160 km. Will be run at speed. The train will run daily between the primary section i.e. Sahibabad to Duhai Depot, although the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has already run the train in the primary section a day earlier, but the test run will be started in full from today.

Rapid Rail will cover the test run of 17 km long priority section from Sahibabad to Duhai at a speed of 160 km per hour from today. According to NCRTC, the 25 KVA Over Head Equipment (OHE) line from Sahibabad to Meerut Road Tiraha station (Ghaziabad station) was charged and the train was taken to Sahibabad to check it. Train design 180 km. Done on an hourly basis. The average speed of the train will be 100 to 120 km. The load capacity test on the track has already been done.

These are the 5 stations in the priority section

The priority section has Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai and Duhai Depot stations. At present, the work of installing escalators and lifts is being done at these stations. Along with this, finishing of all these stations is being done. The construction of passenger facilities and counters is also in the final stage.

Four trains have reached, three more will come

4 RRTS trains have reached Duhai Depot and currently, their various dynamic and static testing is being done. Three more trains will come before the commencement of operations.

Rapid Rail will run from Delhi to Meerut by 2025

NCRTC has set a target to operate RRTS trains in March 2023 in the priority section and in the year 2025 on the entire corridor. About 82 km corridor is being constructed under the Delhi Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System, in which work on 17 km from Sahibabad to Duhai in Ghaziabad has been done on priority basis.
