New Delhi. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) President Ramiz Raja wants a quadrangular series (four-nation series) on an annual basis, consisting of India, Pakistan, Australia and England. Rameez Raja wants the tournament to be played in the T20 International format of the game. It is known to all that both India and Pakistan meet each other only in major ICC events. In view of the political tension and the issue of terrorism, both the countries do not engage in any kind of bilateral matches.
According to Code Sports Australia, the four-nation tournament will be proposed by the former Pakistan captain in the T20 International format. It will be a T20 International series, in which four countries will be involved. India and Pakistan last played a series in India in 2012-13. Pakistan and India have only played in ICC (International Cricket Council) and ACC (Asian Cricket Council) tournaments since 2013.
Earlier, during the tenure of Najam Sethi, the Cricket Board planned to play six series during the 2015-23 cycle, but it did not happen. Pakistan is in a lot of excitement at the moment, as the Australian team will tour Pakistan for a full series in the month of March this year. Meanwhile, Rameez Raja told Code Sports that he is happy with Pakistan-born Australian batsman Usman Khawaja’s recent comments ahead of the Australian tour, as he personally urges teammates to travel to Pakistan.
