The State Finance Department has issued its official orders under the compliance of the orders of the Home Department. According to the order issued under the signature of Finance Revenue Secretary T Ravikant, liquor shops will remain open till 8 pm. This decision of the government will give a big relief to the liquor traders. Along with this, the government exchequer will also increase. Because during the Korana period, the government treasury was getting hurt due to low sales of liquor. The government was facing a lot of financial loss. With this decision, it is believed that there will be an increase in the government exchequer.
Time to open shops like this increased in three phases
Under the guidelines issued by the state government earlier, the time for opening of liquor shops was reduced. The government had earlier given permission to open liquor shops from 10 am to 4 pm. After this, in the guideline issued by the state government, this time was increased by two hours till 6 pm. But the liquor businessmen were not happy with this decision of the government. So now again it has been extended for 2 hours till 8 pm.
Health of the government exchequer will improve
The state’s economy is heavily dependent on alcohol. The Gehlot government had increased the excise duty amid the lockdown. Due to this there was an income of crores of rupees in the exchequer. The state government earns about one thousand crore rupees from liquor annually. The biggest source of revenue of the government is considered to be liquor and stamp duty. The government also earns a lot from petrol and diesel. During the Corona period, the government is facing a lack of financial resources. Now with this decision of the government, there is full hope of increase in the exchequer.
