Anganwadi workers have started a big protest on Sunday at Ramlila Maidan in the capital Jaipur. Anganwadi workers, Asha Sahyoginis and fellow workers from all over Rajasthan gathered in this dharna. Anganwadi workers have warned that if their demands are not met, 62,000 Anganwadis in Rajasthan may be locked.
Angry Anganwadi workers say that the government had promised that they would be made permanent, but this has not been done yet. If the government does not make them permanent, then they will not even vote and will not go to Anganwadi. The employees say that they have staged dharnas from time to time regarding their demands but the government is not listening to them. If this happens even now, then the government may have to bear the brunt of it.
