New Delhi. Indian Railways has started preparations to expand its parcel business. Parcel rules have been changed and made more flexible. So that a small businessman can easily deliver goods from one city to another. Mainly four types of changes have been made. This order has been issued by Railway Director Fred Marketing Ashutosh Mishra.
Till now parcel booking is done in four main ways. First, booking directly from Railways, second, taking SLR and VP on lease, booking entire parcel train and booking under JPP-RCC scheme. The biggest role in all these is played by aggregators (middlemen companies) who collect the goods of small traders and get them booked with the Railways.
Now Railways has decided that more and more aggregators and traders should join this business, hence the strict financial conditions imposed till now for e-auction of leased SLRs and VPs, tender for entire parcel trains and registration in JPP-RCS scheme have been relaxed considerably.
These are the changes that have happened
Earlier, the limit for companies whose turnover or net worth was required to be very high has now been reduced significantly,
New and small aggregators will also now be able to easily lease parcel vehicles and coaches of the Railways,
With this, traders from small towns will also be able to send their goods to any corner of the country by rail at a cheaper price,
Loading will increase by 20 to 30 percent
Railways believes that by simplifying these rules, parcel loading can increase by 20-30 percent and small and medium traders will get cheaper and faster transportation. Railways is going to hold meetings with all the parcel traders and aggregators at all zonal and divisional levels, so that the information about the new discount reaches every necessary person. Besides, it will also be widely publicized so that more and more people can take advantage of this opportunity. If you also want to do freight transportation business or want to send your goods cheaply, then now you can easily join the Railway Parcel Scheme.
