Government rejected the claim

However, the Indian government has rejected the magazine’s claims. The government has termed the article published in The Economist as baseless and misleading. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Health, it has been said that the published analysis of the journal is based only on the assessment of data without epidemiological evidence.
