Rahul Gandhi News: Justice Surya Kant took oath as the 53rd Chief Justice of India, but Rahul Gandhi was not present on the occasion. Regarding which BJP attacked the Congress MP. The BJP alleged that “Congress puts the family system above democracy and the Constitution.”
New Delhi. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for skipping the swearing-in ceremony of Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant on Monday and alleged that the Congress has no respect for either BR Ambedkar or the Constitution.
Justice Surya Kant, who was a part of important decisions on many subjects like abrogation of most of the provisions of Article 370, which provides special status to Jammu and Kashmir, Bihar voter list amendment, took oath as the 53rd Chief Justice of India on Monday.
President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath to Justice Surya Kant at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan and he took the oath in Hindi. Vice President CP Radhakrishnan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi were among the senior leaders attending the ceremony.
BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala questioned Rahul Gandhi’s absence at the event and said, ‘Today, when the entire country, especially Haryana, was celebrating the swearing-in ceremony of the Chief Justice of India and the entire government led by PM Modi was present at the event, he did not participate in it, boycotted it.’
He alleged, “Instead of attending this important event, Rahul Gandhi would rather be on a foreign trip or a jungle safari. This shows that his family, especially he himself, talks about the Constitution but does not respect Ambedkar and the Constitution.” The BJP spokesperson alleged that “Congress puts the family system above democracy and the Constitution.”
