The Congress leader said that according to the government, the farmers are very happy and those (protesting farmers) sitting outside are terrorists. But in reality the rights of the farmers are being snatched away. He said that I have brought the message of farmers in Parliament. They (government) are suppressing the voice of farmers and not allowing discussion in Parliament. They have to repeal these black laws. The whole country knows that these laws are in favor of 2-3 big businessmen. Rajya Sabha members Deepender Hooda, Pratap Singh Bajwa and some other party members were sitting with him on the tractor Rahul was driving.
Earlier, under the leadership of Rahul, MPs had demonstrated near the Gandhi statue in Parliament. Apart from Rahul, Congress leader in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Lok Sabha member Manish Tewari, Gaurav Gogoi, Ravneet Singh Bittu, Rajya Sabha member Pratap Singh Bajwa and many other MPs participated in the protest.
Farmers, mainly from Punjab, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh, have been protesting on the borders of Delhi since November last year against all three agricultural laws. A group of 200 farmers from among the agitating farmers are now protesting at Jantar Mantar in central Delhi after getting special permission.
