Under the Ministry of Railways, there are about 35000 vacancies for non-technical posts i.e. RRB NTPC and about 1600 for technical posts. About 1.25 crore candidates had applied for these posts. For these, the first Tier 1 CBT i.e. Computer Based Examination is to be held. The examination is being conducted in 6 phases. According to Railway Board Chairman and CEO Sunit Sharma, computer-based examinations have been conducted for around 1600 technical posts and computer-based examinations have been started for non-technical posts.
In this regard, ADG JD Narayan says that the computer-based examination for non-technical posts had started in December, but it has been postponed after the increase in corona cases in March. Now the effect of corona is decreasing, but some states are still under lockdown. It is likely that by the end of this month, the lockdown will be removed from almost all the states. After which the computer-based examination of the remaining candidates can be started again from June-July. Railways has started preparations for this.
Under RRB NTPC Traffic Assistant, Goods Guard, Station Master, Senior Timekeeper, Senior Clerk cum Typist, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Commercial Apprentice, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist besides Junior Timekeeper, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Commercial cum There are to be recruitments for the posts of Ticket Clerk, Accounts Clerk cum Typist etc.
