At the same time, due to less arrival of sand from Bihar, its prices have also increased. People building houses are facing a lot of trouble due to the increased prices of ballast and sand.
Chandauli: Ballast supply is stopped in Mughalsarai of the district. Actually, the supply of ballast has stopped due to the collapse of the mine in Obra tehsil area recently. Due to this, the price of ballast has increased. Ballast is available at Rs 6500 per tractor, today tractor is being sold at Rs 7500. On the other hand, due to reduced arrival of sand from Bihar, its prices have also increased, hence house builders are worried due to increase in the prices of gravel and sand. Regarding this, Local 18’s correspondent had a special conversation with the building material shopkeeper and the owner who is building the house.
Increased prices of ballast and sand
In this regard, building material seller Shrikant Gupta told Local 18 that ballast is supplied from Sonbhadra district. At the same time, most of the sand is supplied from Gaya, Dehri on Sone and Durgavati of Bihar. Recently, the supply of ballast has stopped due to mine collapse in Cati Markundi of Obra tehsil area of Sonbhadra district. Therefore its price has increased. At present, ballast is being sold in the market for Rs 7500 per tractor. One tractor ballast means per 100 cubic feet, whereas 10-15 days ago ballast was being sold at Rs 6500 per 100 cubic feet.
traffic month became the reason
Shrikant further said that the price of sand has also increased. Medium sand was being sold for Rs 3800 per 100 cubic feet 10-15 days ago, which is being sold for Rs 4400 today. The price of medium sand has increased by Rs 600. At the same time, coarse sand used in casting is being sold at Rs 5 thousand per tractor. Shrikant said that due to the traffic month, sand and ballast are coming in less quantity and due to the closure of the mine, ballast is not being supplied. Due to this the prices have increased. On the other hand, due to less sand coming from Bihar, its prices have also increased.
Problems increased due to increase in prices
Rohit, who is building a house, told in a conversation with Local 18 that he is building his house in Alampur, Mughalsarai and he has started building his house only a month ago. At that time the rate of sand and gravel was lower than today. At that time sand was available at Rs 3500 per tractor and ballast was available at Rs 6000 per tractor, currently ballast is available at Rs 7500 per tractor and medium sand is available at Rs 4400. At the same time, the coarse sand used in casting is available at Rs 5 thousand per tractor, due to which the problem has increased a bit.
