At present, there are 92 MPs of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Rajya Sabha. According to sources, while the MPs were asked to be present in Parliament at all times and come prepared for debates and discussions, they were also urged to be present on social media.
Sources said, “All MPs were individually assessed regarding their presence and engagement on social media. In some parameters it was also seen whether the presence of MPs on various social media platforms especially Twitter is good or not. Sources said, “The MPs were also judged on whether they shared content through the NaMo app on the initiative of the government, especially Prime Minister Modi. Apart from this, have they shared media coverage and columns on trending issues such as major decisions of the government, electoral success of the party, works of the party/government and other issues on social media. Whether the content of Mann Ki Baat is shared widely or not, along with attacking the negative politics of the opposition.
