Ambala. The taunts of the poor and relatives stopped Anjali’s steps for some time. But she kept her courage and stood up again. On the basis of her hard work, she made it to Team India and then she was an important part of the team that won the medal in handball.
Actually, Ambala’s daughter Anjali participated on behalf of Team India in the Junior Women’s Asia Continental Championship held in Thailand. Teams from about nine countries took part in the competition and the Indian team won the silver medal.
Anjali is the daughter of a poor family and her father works in a tea shop, but her daughter Nishtha’s devotion towards handball is taking her to great heights. Even before this, Anjali has won medals at the national level in many states and has also taken coaching at Sai International Camp in Gujarat.
Talking to Local-18, Anjali’s mother Ramvati told that her daughter has been playing handball since the age of 11. He told that Anjali’s father works in a tea shop and she works in a private hospital. He told that although he is originally from Bihar, he has been living in Lalkurti area of Ambala for the last 30 years. He told that due to poverty and taunts from relatives, there came a time when he had forbidden his daughter to play. However, after some time, seeing his daughter’s passion for sports, he did not stop her from playing again.
He said that today his daughter Anjali is making a lot of name by giving the fruits of her hard work and now it seems that she is not our daughter but the daughter of the whole of India. The family also distributed sweets for the daughter’s success.
Handball player Anjali told that she has been practicing handball for the last 6 years. Although he is from a poor family but his family has fulfilled his every wish. Anjali says that in the initial days, due to poor financial condition of the family, she did not get much support, but her mother has fulfilled all her needs by working. She told that she practices handball for 3 hours every morning and evening and is also completing her studies at SD College, Ambala. She said that she has played in many handball competitions at state and national level. Now he has got a chance to play for Team India in Thailand. She told that she dreams of winning a gold medal for India and also gets a chance to play for India in the Olympics.

Local resident Naveen Yadav told that Anjali’s family has been living in a small room in a rented house in Lal Kurti for the last 30 years and despite being financially poor, Anjali has brought glory to Ambala many times in handball due to her hard work. He told that he wants that in the coming days, just as Anjali has brought glory to the country in Thailand, she should bring glory to India all over the world.
