This price may seem a bit high for small and medium-scale farmers, but the government is also giving grants to help the farmers.

In comparison to traditional plucking, machine prepared makhana is more precise, uniform and of good quality, which fetches better prices in the market. Also, due to less time taken in production, farmers can prepare makhana in larger quantities and supply it in big markets.
