Ingredients for sweet pongal:
Rice – 1/2 cup
Moong Dal – 3 tbsp
Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Ghee – 2 – 3 tbsp
Raisins – 1 tbsp
Cashews – 8-10
Cardamom – 2
Cloves – 1
Nutmeg – 1 pinch
Salt – 1 pinch
Sweet Pongal Recipe:
To make sweet pongal, first fry one cup moong dal and two cups rice in two tablespoons coconut / sesame oil till it becomes slightly brown.
Allow the mixture to cool and then pour it into a pressure cooker.
Add equal amount of water to the mixture and turn on the gas. Wait for two whistles and then turn off the heat.
Add 1.5 cups of jaggery powder and boil it till it dissolves and mix all the ingredients well.
Add 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder and 1/2 cup chopped dry fruits.
– Take your sweet pongal is ready.
