Jamui News: A surprising case has come to light from Jamui district. Armed criminals wearing police uniform arrived in Telwa village of Simultala police station area of Jamui on Monday morning and looted jewelery worth lakhs from the house of a teacher. The accused, posing as policemen of Chakai police station, entered the house and carried out the entire incident in the name of search.
Jamui. A surprising case has come to light from Jamui district of Bihar. Armed criminals wearing police uniform arrived in Telwa village of Simultala police station area of Jamui on Monday morning and looted jewelery worth lakhs from the house of a teacher. The accused, posing as policemen of Chakai police station, entered the house and carried out the entire incident in the name of search. After the incident, there is an atmosphere of panic to surprise in the entire area.
According to the information, the incident happened around 7 in the morning. 5-6 people reached the house of government school teacher Sanjeev Kumar. Everyone was wearing police uniform, had a stick in their hand and a pistol in their waist. The accused knocked on the door and said that there is a warrant against teacher Sanjeev Kumar and they have to be interrogated. As soon as Sanjeev Kumar opened the door, all the accused entered the house and started rummaging through the things. In the name of search, he opened the cupboard and took away the jewelery kept for his daughter’s wedding and his wife’s jewellery. The value of the stolen jewelery is said to be around Rs 15 lakh.
‘I was also asked to go to the police station… then they ran away in a police registered car.’
Victim teacher Sanjeev Kumar told that the criminals were so organized that they even had a police registered vehicle. The victim said that he said that there is a warrant against me and I will have to go to Chakai police station. Entered the house and started searching the cupboard. Within a few minutes they picked up all the jewelery and ran away in a police marked car parked outside. The victim’s wife Poonam Devi was also present at the time of the incident. He told that the criminals threatened the family and did not even allow anyone to come out.
Suspicious vehicle seen in CCTV, police started search
On receiving information about the incident, Simultala police reached the spot and started investigation. Police have said that the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the area is being scrutinized. A footage shows a suspicious vehicle with ‘Police’ written on it. The police is carrying forward the investigation on the basis of the same vehicle and is finding out whether the vehicle belongs to the real police department or was being driven with a fake number. At present, a blockade has been imposed in the area and investigation is underway on possible routes.
Panic in the village, discussion from house to house – ‘Robbery wearing police uniform!’
There is an atmosphere of panic in the village after the incident. Villagers say that if criminals in police uniform start entering their homes, then whom will people trust? The villagers have demanded to stop such incidents and increase police patrolling in the area. Simultala police say that the matter is very serious and the criminals will be identified soon. The police team is investigating from many angles.
