Friends, Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena is a well-known name in the world of Hindi writing. Sarveshwar Dayal Saxena, a famous poet, litterateur and editor, was born in September itself and in this month he also said goodbye to the world. His poems are also nashtar, mirror and salt on wounds. In today’s podcast of Hindi, I have brought for you Pooja Prasad’s three selected poems …
The title of his first poem is- Backward man
When everyone spoke
He kept quiet
When everyone walked
He used to follow back,
When everyone broke down on food
He used to sit apart and crawl
Used to fall asleep when everyone
He used to stare into the void
But when shot
Then first of all
He was killed.
His second poem is- Lu Shun and the birds
In my childhood, I used to see Lu Shun walking in the immortals of my village, chatting with old men in the barns, drinking chillums and playing with the soldiers in the fields getting ready. They are often found roaming in dense forests.
“Yes, the birds of this forest have stopped me.”
‘Bullets are fired in this forest. They are scared by their voices.
‘Are any hunters after them?’
‘Hunters are no longer interested in birds.’
‘it’s so great. Then they should not be nervous.
‘Trouble is not … the sounds of bullets that come. She flies full of joy. They are stretched like a canopy all over the forest. Then when she returns and lands on the trees, she is full of panic.
‘She says that there are often corpses found in trees. They are afraid of fearing that there should be no corpse tied to the tree from which they are descending. The tied corpse tree is no longer a tree, nor does it have leaves, leaves, it believes. Flames come out from these trees and the leaves continue to blaze like embers. She cannot sit on them, nor can she settle. She is afraid that one day the entire forest will not burn.
‘Do birds identify these dead bodies?’
‘No, no one recognizes these corpses.’
‘Are they very clean, fat people?’
‘No, often weak and ravaged. But fearless and courageous. They love trees and sparrows and are full of imagination to make the forest a paradise.
‘What would you do?’
‘I have understood the language of many birds. I am explaining to them that they should break on those gunmen who bring a man and shoot him by tying them to trees. If they break even before firing on the tied man, then it will not happen.
“But the gun can rise on them too.”
‘There are not so many bullets in a gun that can wipe out crores. Then when broken together, the gun starts shaking hands. She falls down and falls. This is what I am teaching the birds here. Many birds have understood the matter. But there are different types of birds in this forest. Their language is different. They have different colors, different dialects. It is taking some time for everyone to understand. But soon I will understand each one’s habit, each one’s language and then I will be able to explain them. I can make everyone round and free from fear too.
Evening had come. I was eager to come out of the dark forest. I bid farewell to them and started stepping outside the forest. He was going further and all the birds began to surround him. She was being surrounded. Not a single bird looked at me.
Here I have not been to the jungles for a long time, but I know very well, Lu Shun is there and now he must have known all their language. After a few days, bullets will stop in the forests and birds will start singing fearless songs.
This third poem of hiss will make your hair fall. It is titled- Won’t let the sun sink
Now i won’t let the sun set
See i have widened my shoulders
Fists have become stronger
And by winding up the slope
I have learned to stand up.
Do not panic
I’m going to the horizon
Right when the sun starts rolling down the hill
I will shoulder
See it stayed there
Now i won’t let the sun set
I heard you are in his chariot
I want to bring you down
You are the statue of freedom
You are the idol of courage
You are the happiness of the earth
The timeless love you are
You are my arterial flow
You are an extension of my consciousness
I want to take you off that chariot.
Keep the fire on
Now the wheels will not budge
I have widened my shoulders
Who will stop you
I have grown up
With golden earrings of grain
I will decorate you
I open the chest
I will sing you in love songs
I’ve grown up
I will make you fly like a dream in every eye.
Where will the sun go
He has to be here
Right here in our breath
In our veins
In our resolutions
In our night
Don’t you be sad
Now any sun
I will not let it drown
