Mau. With the onset of winter, the risk of diseases increases in small children. Drop in temperature, dust, smoke and rapid change of weather weakens the immunity of children. Because of this, infections like RSV, viral flu, cold, pneumonia and bronchitis are spreading rapidly these days. Doctors believe that children need special attention at this time. Talking to Local 18, Dr. Sumant Kumar Gupta, pediatrician of Kesari Raj Hospital, Mau, says that small children mostly complain of pneumonia during the winter season. It attacks the lungs of small children. In this the child’s breathing starts becoming faster. The child is unable to drink milk or eat or drink anything. Starts vomiting continuously. Becomes lethargic. These are the main symptoms of pneumonia. If such symptoms appear in small children, consult a doctor immediately.
Keep these things in mind
Family members play an important role in preventing pneumonia. If you have a small child of 6 months at home, then feed him mother’s milk only. Keep covered. Do not rotate in cold air. Do not bathe in the sun. It is often seen that people bathe small children in the sun to protect them from cold, but bathing in the sun and cold winds cause great harm to small children. Therefore, bathing should be done in a closed room. The head should be washed last. After bathing the whole body, wash the head and first wipe it with a dry cloth. With this your child will not feel cold.
Even small carelessness can be fatal
According to Dr. Sumant, if there are children older than 6 months in the house, then keep feeding them proper water, so that the body temperature remains fine. Do not use appliances like heaters, fireplaces and blowers. Using them in a closed room increases the chances of pneumonia in small children.
