New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Karnataka and Maharashtra on Thursday and during this time he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various schemes worth about Rs 49,600 crore in both the states. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) gave this information in a statement on Tuesday. The PMO said that the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate various development projects worth Rs 10,800 crore related to irrigation, drinking water and the National Highway Development Project in Karnataka. According to him, the Prime Minister will dedicate Mumbai Metro Rail Line 2A and 7 to the nation and will also ride in it. He will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate projects worth more than Rs 38,800 crore. These include laying the foundation stone for seven sewage treatment plants, road concretization project and redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai.
In Karnataka, the Prime Minister will visit Yadgir and Kalaburagi districts and will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones of various development projects related to irrigation, drinking water and the National Highway Development Project at Kodekal in Yadgir district at around 12 noon, the PMO said. The Prime Minister will then reach Malkhed in Kalaburagi district, where he will distribute ownership rights (Hakku Patra) to the eligible beneficiaries of the recently declared revenue villages and also lay the foundation stone of a National Highway project. The PMO said Yadgir would lay the foundation stone of multi-village drinking water supply scheme under Jal Jeevan Mission in line with its vision to provide safe and adequate drinking water through individual household tap connections to all households.
Potable water will be available to 2.3 lakh households in Yadgir district
Under this scheme, a water purification plant of 117 MLD will be built. This project costing more than Rs 2050 crore will provide potable water to about 2.3 lakh households in more than 700 rural habitations and three towns of Yadgir district. During the event, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Narayanpur Left Bank Canal-Extension Renovation and Modernization Project (NLBC-ERM). According to the PMO, the project, with a canal carrying capacity of 10,000 cusecs, can irrigate 4.5 lakh hectares of command area and benefit over three lakh farmers in 560 villages in Kalaburagi, Yadgir and Vijaypur districts. The total cost of the project is around Rs 4700 crore.
Highway to be built at a cost of Rs 2,000 crore, will lay foundation stone
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of 65.5 kilometer stretch of National Highway-150C. This six-lane greenfield road project is part of the Surat-Chennai Expressway. It is costing about Rs 2,000 crore to make it. The Surat-Chennai Expressway will pass through six states- Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu.

After this, the Prime Minister will reach Maharashtra, where he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 38,800 crore. The PMO said that at around 5 pm the Prime Minister will inaugurate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of several development initiatives in Mumbai and after that at around 6:30 pm he will inaugurate two lines of the Mumbai Metro and also take a metro ride. Metro Line 2A connecting Dahisar E and DN Nagar (Yellow Line) is approximately 18.6 km long, while Metro Line 7 connecting Andheri E – Dahisar E (Red Line) is approximately 16.5 km long. The foundation stone of these lines was also laid by the Prime Minister in 2015. The Prime Minister will also launch Mumbai 1 Mobile App and National Common Mobility Card (Mumbai 1).
