PM Modi Netanyahu Talk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Benjamin Netanyahu discussed the situation in West Asia, Gaza peace plan, zero tolerance on terrorism and India-Israel partnership. The PMO said that both the leaders have agreed to remain in touch with each other in future also. India has always maintained strong defense and strategic relations with Israel, and this interaction is another step in that direction.
New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke on telephone with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday. During this, both the leaders had a serious discussion on the current situation in West Asia. Israeli PM Netanyahu himself called PM Modi and shared his views on the situation in the region. During the talks, India once again took the side of peace. Prime Minister Modi reaffirmed India’s support for efforts for a just and lasting peace in the region. He especially emphasized on the early implementation of ‘Gaza Peace Plan’.
‘Zero tolerance’ policy on terrorism
According to the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), both the leaders spoke in one voice on the issue of terrorism. PM Modi and Netanyahu strongly condemned terrorism. He reiterated that any form of terrorism will not be tolerated. Both countries again clarified their approach of ‘zero tolerance’. This conversation took place at a time when terrorism and regional security remain major challenges at the global level.
Strategic partnership will become stronger
Bilateral relations between India and Israel were also discussed during the talks. Both the leaders expressed satisfaction over the progress being made in India-Israel strategic partnership. He resolved that these relations would be deepened for mutual benefit. The PMO said that both the leaders have agreed to remain in touch with each other in future also. Let us tell you that relations between the two countries are continuously progressing. In this sequence, at the end of last month, Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal completed his successful visit to Israel, during which he held several high-level meetings with the aim of strengthening India-Israel strategic and economic partnership. According to an official statement, the visit reaffirmed the firm commitment of the two countries to deepen economic ties, accelerate technology-based cooperation and expand partnership in areas of strategic importance, marking an important step in the next phase of India-Israel relations. During his visit from November 20 to 22, Goyal held bilateral meetings with three Israeli ministers and also met Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
