Know here how you can take care of your plants in extreme cold.
Every year the winter season brings challenges for the plants, because due to low temperature the soil dries up late and the roots of the plants become sluggish. Due to which the requirement of water and fertilizer is also reduced and in such a situation even a little carelessness can weaken the plant. We are going to tell you about some mistakes regarding plants which you should not make at all in winter. If you pay attention to the experts’ advice then your plants will remain green even in winter and will not wither at all, let us know.
Untimely watering: Due to changing the time of watering, the roots of the plant are not able to tolerate the temperature and due to which there is a risk of the plant getting damaged. In such a situation, in winter, always water between 8 am and 11 am in the morning. Apart from this, watering in the evening or night causes the soil to cool and damage the roots, hence avoid watering at that time.
Not keeping the plant in sunlight: In winter, sunlight is the energy of the plant, and due to lack of sunlight the leaves start turning yellow. Therefore, by not keeping it in sunlight, the problem increases and the possibility of fungus increases. Make sure to provide sunlight for at least 3-4 hours every day. Take indoor plants also in the sun 2-3 days a week.

Giving more fertilizer than required: The growth of plants is slow in winter, so they do not require much fertilizer. Keep less fertilizer in this season. Light fertilizer is sufficient in 30-40 days. Apart from this, giving too much fertilizer can cause the roots to burn or the plant to start turning yellow.
Not weeding the soil: In winter, the soil becomes hard and air cannot reach it, due to which the roots start becoming weak. In such a situation, do light weeding in 10-15 days. This keeps the soil soft, water passes properly and the roots get oxygen.
Watering wet soil: It takes time for the soil to dry in winter. If the soil is already wet and is still watered, the roots start rotting due to lack of air. Always water only when the top 1-2 inches of soil becomes dry. Check the moisture by inserting your finger. If there is moisture, do not water at all.
Changing the place of the plant frequently: Plants are not able to tolerate the change in temperature quickly in winter. Do not move it daily to expose it to sunlight or take it in and out. Keep it in a stable place where it gets light sunlight and air.
Not cutting trees on time: Often people plant trees in their homes but do not cut them on time. Due to which the branches of the trees start growing longer and the old leaves in them start drying up. Therefore, special care should be taken about cutting, it is also useful in the growth of trees.
