There can be a lot of benefit in wheat cultivation. Experts believe that while cultivating wheat, the farmer must take care of soil identification and seed treatment. If you treat the seeds and sow them, the disease will be reduced by 80 percent. This increases production by 75 percent.
Jehanabad: The harvesting of Kharif crops is almost over and sowing of major Rabi crops has started. Wheat is grown on a large scale in Bihar. This is a crop that is ready in about 100 to 120 days. As soon as the paddy harvesting is over, farmers are busy preparing the wheat fields. Sowing has been done at many places, because the right time for sowing is considered to be from 15th November. Many times it happens that farmers are not able to adopt the right method, due to which they have to face defeat.
However, this will not happen now. Because Dr. Nirala, working on the post of agricultural extension at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jehanabad, shared many important information with you. If farmers follow his advice then they can get a lot of benefit in wheat cultivation. He believes that while cultivating wheat, the farmer must take care of soil identification and seed treatment. If you treat the seeds and sow them, the disease will be reduced by 80 percent. This increases production by 75 percent.
The yield of HD 2967 is 45 quintals per hectare.
According to Dr. Nirala, wheat cultivation is highest in Magadha region in Rabi season. After this, gram, lentils and vegetables are cultivated. Right now is the most suitable time for sowing wheat. From 15th November to 15th December is considered auspicious time. Loamy soil is found in Magadha region. The best seed in this soil is HD 2967, whose production capacity is 40 to 45 quintals per hectare. If farmers sow wheat at the right time, they can get a very good yield.
Seed treatment is very important
According to Dr. Nirala, it is also right to do seed treatment before sowing. Because 80 percent of the diseases in crops come from seeds only. If farmers do seed treatment properly then diseases will be eliminated from their crops. When diseases disappear from the crop, the yield increases by 70 to 75 percent. It is also necessary to plow the field 3 to 4 times before sowing. If farmers keep these things in mind, they can get a lot of profit from wheat cultivation.
