Patna. Keeping in mind the easy movement of daily commuters in Bihar, preparations for building three new rail corridors have been intensified. These schemes, directly connecting Arrah, Buxar, Fatuha, Patna, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Kishanganj and many districts, are considered to bring a big change in the railway infrastructure of the state. The total length of these three corridors will be approximately 260 kilometers and the construction cost is estimated to be around Rs 9000 crore. This will create new options for passengers, less crowd and faster travel.
Officials associated with the project say that the design of all three corridors is almost ready and the DPR is in the final stages. As soon as the construction process starts, the structure of rail connectivity across the state will change and passengers will start getting new route facilities.
Three corridors-plan to connect entire Bihar
- Under this project, East-West Corridor will be built between Buxar and Kishanganj. This corridor will make rail travel easier to East Bihar by connecting Bhojpur, Patna, Nalanda, Nawada and Gaya.
- The second North Corridor will connect Fatuha, Patna, Hajipur, Sonpur and Chhapra. Running parallel to the Patna Metro route, it will reduce rail pressure on many busy routes.
- The third Hajipur-Muzaffarpur corridor will meet the traffic needs of North Bihar and provide new connectivity to the passengers here.
10 km long railway bridge will be built on Ganga
