Mau: Unemployment remains the biggest challenge for the youth today. Everyone wants to stand on their own feet and is looking for permanent employment for themselves. In such a situation, if you get the right guidance and help, you can not only establish employment for yourself but can also provide employment to others. In Mau district, the Horticulture Department has started several schemes to encourage the youth, under which better grants and loan facilities are being provided for setting up food and other industries.
Speaking to Local 18, District Horticulture Officer Sandeep Kumar Gupta said that currently through the Horticulture Department, youth can set up food related industries like papad, chips, namkeen, pickles, sweet shop, ice cream factory or any food related industry. For this, financial grants are provided by the department, so that entrepreneurs can easily start their business.
Sandeep Kumar Gupta told that along with food related industries, animal feed, poultry feed and other micro industries can be established under the Prime Minister Micro Food Industry Scheme. According to the total cost of any industry, the Horticulture Department will give a minimum grant of up to Rs 10 lakh. For example, if someone’s project is worth Rs 30 lakh, then a grant of Rs 10 lakh will be given, and if the project is worth Rs 20 lakh, then a grant of 35 percent of the cost i.e. Rs 7 lakh will be given.

The loan will be passed by the bank
This grant is given in the form of loan through the bank. For this, the Horticulture Department has created a separate DRP (District Rural Project), which will prepare industry projects. The prepared project will be approved by the district level committee and sent to the bank and the bank will pass the loan and provide the budget for setting up the industry.
To establish his own industry, the applicant must have his own land, where he can run the industry. Also, the applicant should originally be a resident of Mau. It is mandatory for the industry to be established to have a GST number. Apart from this, registration will have to be done in Udyam Aadhaar and for the food industry, it is also necessary to get FFCI registration from the Food Department.
This scheme is open to all castes and classes. Any unemployed youth can apply under this scheme and take advantage of it and get permanent employment by setting up their own industry.
