The government is ending the demand for Aadhaar photocopy. Now in hotels, events, salons, identification will be done through QR scan or new app. UIDAI’s new rule will increase data security and privacy.
New DelhiThe government is now going to completely end the practice of asking for photocopy of Aadhaar at places like hotels, event organisers, salons, office entry gates, That means now no one will keep a copy of your Aadhaar in the file and submit it, The government is doing this so that the concerns of data leakage are eliminated and verification can be done only through QR scan or app,
UIDAI CEO Bhuvnesh Kumar said that this new rule has been approved and it will be notified very soon. In the new system, hotel or event owners will register their identity and they will get a technology interface through which they will be able to identify themselves without any paper, just through QR scan or the new Aadhaar app. This change will make the entire verification process fast, private and completely paperless.
Now the era of photocopying is over
Many hotels or event organizers still ask for a photocopy of Aadhaar and keep it in the physical file. This is directly against the Aadhaar Act and is also a threat to data security. After the implementation of the new rule, no organization will be able to do paper-based Aadhaar verification. Everyone will have to register and adopt the QR scan method.
New Aadhaar app will do verification without server going down
UIDAI is testing a new app which will do app to app identification. With this, there will be no need to connect to the central server of Aadhaar every time. Many times there was delay in hotel check-in or event entry due to server being down. Now this problem will end. Where QR is scanned, identification will be done immediately. This app can also be used at airports, liquor shops or places where age or identity verification is required.
Data privacy will get a boost
The focus of the government is to ensure that the Aadhaar information of any citizen is not copied anywhere. In the QR scan, only basic details like name and photo are visible, not the complete information. This will also ensure identification and the fear of data leak will also be eliminated.
The entire system will be upgraded as per DPDP Act.
This new app is being made in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act. The Act will be fully implemented in the next 18 months, so UIDAI is already updating the entire Aadhaar systems. There will also be an option to update the address in the app and people who do not have a mobile can also be added to the family’s app.
