Actually, due to dense fog, Railways has decided to make changes in the operation of many trains from December 1 to February 28. Hajipur Zone CPRO Saraswati Chandra said that due to severe reduction in visibility in winter, Railways has to make changes in operations every year and this time also the same system has been implemented. In view of the increasing fog in winter, Railways has completely canceled some trains and some have been partially cancelled. Apart from this, the operating days of many trains have also been reduced so that the safety of passengers can be provided.
Chief Liaison Officer said that Veerangana Lakshmibai (Jhansi)-Kolkata Express running via Kiul-Jhajha railway section will be canceled from 05 December to 27 February. The same train running from Kolkata to Veerangana Lakshmibai (Jhansi) has been canceled from 07 December to 01 March. Railways has also directed to cancel Howrah-Dehradun Upasana Express from 02 December to 27 February, while Dehradun-Howrah Upasana Express will not run from 03 December to 28 February. Tata-Amritsar Express will remain canceled from 01 December to 25 February and Amritsar-Tata Express running in the opposite direction will not run from 03 December to 27 February. All these trains are important long-distance links between North India and the Jharkhand-West Bengal region, whose cancellation will force many passengers to alter their travel plans. Officials say that there is no bigger option than security, hence such decisions become necessary from time to time.

The Chief Liaison Officer said that apart from this, Howrah-Kathgodam Bagh Express will be canceled on every Sunday from 07 December to 22 February. Whereas Kathgodam-Howrah Bagh Express will not run on every Tuesday from 09 December to 24 February. Train number 12317 Kolkata-Amritsar Express will be canceled on every Sunday from 07 December to 22 February. Similarly, 12318 Amritsar-Kolkata Express has been canceled every Tuesday from 09 December to 24 February. Train number 12357 Kolkata-Amritsar Express will remain closed on every Saturday from 06 December to 28 February. Whereas train number 12358 Amritsar-Kolkata Express will be canceled every Monday from 08 December to 02 March. Railways said that fog affects the visibility of signaling and loco pilots, which increases the possibility of accidents. In such a situation, keeping in mind the safety of passengers, these temporary changes have been made in the operation of trains and the services will be restored once the situation becomes normal.
