Indian Railway Services Downtime: A very important news has arrived for railway passengers. There will be interruption in rail ticket booking services in Delhi for a few hours on 22nd November. On this day, some services of the Passenger Reservation System are not going to work in Delhi. In such a situation, you will not be able to use services related to ticket booking, cancellation, enquiry.
Due to replacement of old core with new core switch, PRS services will be temporarily closed for about 5 hours. You may face difficulty in using some important features from 11:45 am on 22nd November to 4:45 pm on 23rd November. Railways has selected Non-Peak Hours to make changes in the core switch. During non-peak hours, people use railway facilities less.

During the transition from old to new core switch, you will not be able to use the service of ticket cancellation, current reservation, chart making process, internet ticket booking, PRS status enquiry, e-DR, Primes application. Core switch is an important part of the railway network, it helps in keeping the data fast and secure. With the help of PRS services, passengers have the facility to book tickets from anywhere. Because of this service, passengers do not have to stand in long lines for ticket booking.
Using this, passengers book reserved and unreserved tickets in passenger trains. This makes the entire process of ticket booking easier and passengers get help even before planning.
How to use PRS service?
To use PRS service, you have to download IRCTC website and IRCTC Rail Connect app. For this, passengers have to create their account on the website or app and then get the benefit of ticket booking.

All these trains will not run from 1 December to 28 February.
Besides, Railways has also reduced the routes of 28 more trains. Among these, there are many such trains which used to run daily, now instead of them they will run only two to four days a week. For the rest of the day, some trains will be completely closed by the Railways, but on the days when they will run, they will continue to run as per the old time table.
