Muzaffarpur. This painful incident that happened in Sakra police station area of Muzaffarpur is not just a news, but a reality that shocks humanity. Within a few hours, in the same house where children slept after eating food as usual, four lives ended forever and the lives of two innocent people changed forever.
Speaking to Local 18, seven-year-old Shivam said in a trembling voice that everything was normal on Sunday night. Along with father Amarnath Ram, sister and younger brother and sister, he ate egg curry, roti and the day’s leftover rice. After this everyone slept. No one had any idea that this would be their last meal together.
bow to mom and jump
According to Shivam, on Monday around 4 o’clock father got up and woke up all the children. After this, a noose was made by tying his late mother’s saree kept in the house to a string. Shivam told that father was tying a noose around the neck of all the children one by one and repeatedly asking, “Will everyone jump, right?” Then finally before jumping he said, “Greet your mother and jump.”
In Shivam’s words, “Papa and Didi jumped first. We also jumped out of fear. My throat started hurting a lot, my breathing stopped. There was a trunk next to me, I climbed on it and opened the noose around my neck, then opened the noose around my younger brother Chandan too. After this, I started screaming loudly.”
Father and two sisters died
Hearing the shouting, people nearby ran. By that time it was too late. Amarnath Ram, 13 year old Anuradha, 10 year old Shivani and 6 year old Radhika had died. The courtyard of the house was filled with screams and mourning.
Shivam also told that his mother had died a year ago. He says that mother used to go somewhere to work, due to which there used to be fights with father. However, the villagers say that the mother died due to burst appendix. After his mother’s death, Amarnath often talked about dying. He had also taken loans from many people in the village, due to which he was always under stress. Shivam tells that his dream is to become a soldier in future.
Today, after this incident, Shivam (7 years) and Chandan (4 years) have become completely orphans. Fear, questions and the deep pain of losing loved ones are clearly visible on their faces. Seeing them, every eye becomes moist and every heart becomes heavy.
