The National Investigating Agency (NIA) on Monday made a big revelation, calling Pakistan-based terrorist Sajid Jatt the ‘key conspirator’ of the Pahalgam attack. Sajid Jatt runs Lashkar-e-Taiba’s proxy group ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF). NIA has made it clear in its charge sheet that the conspiracy to cause bloodshed in the valley was hatched by this terrorist sitting across the border. Lashkar commander, face of TRF Sajid Jatt, also known as Saifullah, is an active and senior commander of Lashkar-e-Taiba. According to the investigating agency, he carries out the activities of TRF on the instructions of his masters sitting across the border. Let us tell you that this TRF had taken responsibility for the Pahalgam terrorist attack, in which 26 people lost their lives.
CNN-StuffUnknownturned out to be right
CNN-StuffUnknownhad already told in its report how Islamabad (Pakistan) presents TRF as a ‘local Kashmiri organization’ to deceive the world, whereas in reality its leadership is in the hands of Lashkar Commander Jatt. He selects targets, decides the time of attack and arranges logistics through an encrypted platform. TRF was set up in 2019 only so that Pakistan could distance itself from the activities of Lashkar and avoid the pressure of the Financial Action Task Force.
What is in the NIA charge sheet?
NIA has filed a huge charge sheet of 1,597 pages in the special court of Jammu. In this, a total of 7 accused have been named in the Pahalgam attack case. The agency has also accused banned organization LeT-TRF as a ‘legal entity’ of planning, facilitating and carrying out the attack.
Killed terrorists and arrested helpers also included
Apart from mastermind Sajid Jatt, the chargesheet also names three Pakistani terrorists who were killed by Indian security forces during ‘Operation Mahadev’ in Dachigam in July. They have been identified as Faisal Jatt alias Suleman Shah, Habib Tahir alias Jibran and Hamza Afghani. Besides, two locals – Parvez Ahmed and Bashir Ahmed Jothat – who were arrested on June 22 on charges of harboring terrorists, have also been made accused. During interrogation, both of them had revealed that the terrorists involved in the attack were Pakistani citizens and were associated with Lashkar.
Accused of ‘waging war against India’
NIA has charged Lashkar-TRF and these four terrorists under serious sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), Arms Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Most importantly, the agency has also charged the accused with waging war against India. NIA says that it has exposed this conspiracy hatched by Pakistan through a meticulous and scientific investigation that lasted for eight months.
