Ambala: These days, the controversy regarding Rail Neer at Ambala Cantonment Railway Station in Haryana is not stopping. Actually, the government price on Rail Neer has now become Rs 14, but despite this, even today, some vendors are giving bottles of Rail Neer to the passengers at the railway station for Rs 20. According to the passengers, even if they raise their voice regarding the price of Rail Neer, they are told by the vendors that if they want to take a water bottle then take it or else leave it. The situation here is also inside the railways.
Vendors are charging more money on Rail Neer
When the team of Local 18 went to Ambala Cantonment Railway Station and did a ground report about this, some passengers told that a bottle of Rail Neer worth Rs 14 was given to them for Rs 20. At Ambala Cantonment Railway Station, Mohammad Saif, a passenger from Punjab, told that he was going to Saharanpur for some important work and as soon as he went to the stall to get water at Ambala Railway Station, he was given a bottle of Rail Neer worth Rs 20 by the vendor, whereas the price written on it is Rs 14 and overcharge is being taken by the vendors.
More money is being charged from passengers
Golu Kumar, a resident of Bihar, told that he was going to Delhi for some work and when he bought a bottle of Rail Neer, he was overcharged by the vendor. He said that even if he talks to the vendor about the price of Rail Neer, he says that if you want to buy a bottle of Rs. 20, then buy it, otherwise leave it.
Fight when you complain
He said that he will now complain about this to Indian Railways. Nitish Kumar told that he is a resident of Begusarai, Bihar and Rail Neer bottles are being given in trains for Rs 20, which is absolutely wrong. He said that the government has reduced the price of Rail Neer to Rs 14, but even today poor people are not getting these things at cheap prices. He told that if he talks about the price, then the people selling railway water start fighting with him.
Sajan Shukla told that he has just come to Ambala railway station from Narayangarh in Ambala and is going to Bihar for some work. He told that at the railway station, he was given a packet of namkeen with print rate of Rs 20 for Rs 30, but when he asked the stall operator for this, he did not give any correct answer. He appealed to the railway administration and said that action should be taken against such shopkeepers.
Tender will be canceled and fine will be imposed
When the team of Local 18 talked to Ambala Railway Division Senior DCM Naveen Kumar about this, he told that if any such case comes to light, strict action will be taken against it. He told that in such a case, fine on the stall operator as well as cancellation of his tender is done by the Railway Board. Similar complaints were being received for the last two-three days on which action is now being taken.
Register complaint on 139
He said that there is also an appeal to the general public to become aware and pay money at the shop only as per the rate list issued by the Railways. Also asked for the bill from the shopkeeper. He told that the passenger can also register his complaint by calling 139. After this, the Railway Board takes action in all these cases in different ways.
