Affordable and essential medicines should be accessible to every person, that is why the prices of anti-biotic and anti-viral medicines, which are used in large quantities in the country, are also revised from time to time. Taking this process forward, the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA) has revised the prices of 128 medicines including anti-biotic and anti-viral, which is going to prove to be a big relief for the patients.
There are many dangerous diseases whose treatment lasts for a lifetime and some diseases are such whose medicines are very expensive. It is not possible for every person to take treatment. That’s why many times people leave their treatment in the middle. But this will not happen due to the amendment done by the Modi government, now people will be able to take expensive medicines for cancer, asthma and fever and will also be able to take care of them.
crackdown on arbitrary prices of companies
This is a big effort from the Modi government to crackdown on the companies which are selling essential medicines for dangerous diseases (Amoxicillin and Klebu lenic acid, Salbutamol and Paracetamol) at arbitrary prices till now. For the last few months, medicines used in the treatment of cancer, fever, cough and cold, sugar, BP, asthma, infection, high blood pressure and anemia have become expensive. The prices of medicines like paracetamol, phenobarbitone, phenytoin sodium, azithromycin, ciprofloxacin hydrochloride and metronidazole also increased. Due to which the public was upset.
More than 11 percent reduction will give relief
According to an estimate, the prices of 128 medicines had increased by 11% in the last few days. However, now a notification has also been issued to revise their prices. Soon those medicines for all these diseases will be available cheaply. In such a situation, not only cancer, many medicines last for life. That’s why people will get relief from this step.
Patients will also be able to pay attention to nutrition
Due to expensive medicines, the patients who spend all the money on treatment will certainly not only get a big relief from this step but will also help in fulfilling their health and nutrition. Due to the cheapness of medicines, along with savings, patients will also pay attention to nutrition, which is left behind somewhere because medicines are so expensive that people do not take fruits and vegetables. They think that it is good if all the expenses are paid for the treatment. Dr. Mahima tells that not only cancer, diabetes, asthma are all diseases, all the medicines are very expensive for them, so the 128 medicines whose rates will be reduced is a very good step. This will give a lot of relief to the people and those who are leaving the treatment in the middle, this will not happen.
