PFRDA has simplified the KYC process.
You can also open the account of National Pension System (NPS) very easily online.
Actually, now the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority has made the KYC process easier. PFRDA has made Aadhaar-based KYC process paperless. That is, now an account can be opened with offline basis. Physical copy will not be required in it.
Under this new process one can go to the portal of UIDAI and download the password protected Aadhaar XML file in offline mode through e-NPS and upload it for KYC.
This is the whole process1. Firstly upload the offline basis in paperless e-KYC zip format. If the XML zip file is not created, one has to navigate the UIDAI portal to download it. After downloading the Aadhaar paperless e-KYC, it can be secured by entering a 4-digit password.
2. Select your registration option on eNPS portal and provide the registered mobile number in UIDAI here and upload the zip file with 4 digit pass code for eKYC contactless offline method.
3. On submission of OTP, details like name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, address, and protograph will be generated from UIDAI database and other information will also have to be filled.
4. Upload a scanned copy of your PAN card. Also upload a cancel check between 4 MB to 2KB in a JPEG, PNG file and also upload a copy of your signature. Subscriber will be sent to the payment portal of NPS account for payment. The PRAN will be issued after the payment is successful.
