Ambikapur News: These days, work related to Aadhaar card has become a big problem for the general public in Ambikapur, headquarters of Surguja division of Chhattisgarh. Due to ration card KYC, biometric updates and huge number of IDs being made in schools, the cases of Aadhaar correction have increased. People are turning to Aadhaar centers in large numbers for everything from name spelling, date of birth, address correction in Aadhaar card to making new Aadhaar cards. For this reason, huge crowd is being seen in Aadhaar centers every day, due to which people have to stand in queues for hours. At the same time, due to technical difficulties in the process of Aadhaar amendment and increasing applications, the work is getting delayed. The officials responsible for this whole matter say that due to the increasing pressure, a temporary problem is arising, which efforts are being made to resolve it soon.
Highest rush for ration card KYC and biometric update
Aadhaar center operator Rishabh Kumar said that at present most of the people are reaching Aadhaar centers for ration card KYC and biometric updates. Along with this, due to large number of IDs being made in schools, the cases of Aadhaar correction of children are also increasing continuously.
Apar ID stuck due to mistake in children’s names
According to Rishabh Kumar, the spelling of name in the Aadhar card of a large number of children is wrong, while the name is different in the school records or results. In many cases, the full names of the children have been recorded separately. For example, the name in Aadhaar is Rishabh, whereas in the marksheet it is written as Saurabh. In such cases, gazette notification is necessary for full name correction, which is issued from Khairagarh or Rajnandgaon. People are facing the most problems regarding this process.
Minor correction facility closed, parents also worried
Rishabh Kumar said that the facility of minor correction for children aged between 5 to 18 years has not been started in the UC portal at present. In this process, it is mandatory for one of the parents to be present with the child and biometrics of both are taken. If a surname is to be added to a child’s name, like adding Singh to Rahul, then a birth certificate with QR code (issued from the CRS portal) is required. Due to closure of the facility, not only the operators but also the common people are facing a lot of trouble.
New UC tool brings hope, but technical flaws are increasing the problem
E-manager Vaibhav Singh said that many changes have been recently made in the system previously available by UIDAI and now a new tool named Universal Client (UC) has been launched. Under this, the processes which were offline earlier have now become completely online and the application is being reflected directly on the server.
Rejections increased, complaints are being sent to UIDAI
However, according to Vaibhav Singh, at present the UC tool is not working properly. Technical problems are coming to the fore at many places, due to which the cases of rejection in biometric updates, new Aadhaar of children and other reforms have increased. These problems have been brought to the notice of UIDAI. Related complaints are being lodged through mail and on the Grievance Portal. There is a solution, but it is taking time.
