Muzaffarpur News: One daughter wanted to become a doctor, while the other wanted to wear police uniform. But helpless due to poverty, the father himself took the deadly step along with his three daughters.
Muzaffarpur: Four people of a family died due to poverty in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. The father hanged his three daughters with their mother’s saree. Then he committed suicide by hanging himself. There was silence in the area after the incident. The incident in Mishraulia village of Sakra police station area shocked humanity. This was not just a mass death, but also the murder of those dreams which were shining like light even in the darkness of poverty. The friend of the deceased girls told that one girl wanted to become a doctor. So the other one had to become a constable in the police.
40 year old Amarnath Ram made a noose from his late wife’s saree and hanged himself along with his own children. Amarnath Ram, 13 year old Anuradha, 10 year old Shivani and 6 year old Radhika died in this tragic incident. While seven-year-old Shivam and four-year-old Chandan somehow escaped from the trap. Both these children are alive now, but their innocent eyes are filled with lifelong fear and the deep wound of losing their loved ones.
Took fatal step at 4 am in the morning
It is said that on Sunday night everyone sat together and had dinner. No one had any idea that this would be their last together. Amarnath took this dreadful step late at night. Around 4 am on Monday, Shivam and Chandan somehow came out of the house and started crying and making noise. When the villagers heard the sound and saw the scene inside the house, everyone was stunned. Mourning spread throughout the village.
Had dreamed of becoming a doctor after mother’s death
This tragedy also buried the dreams of two little daughters forever. Anuradha, 13, was the eldest daughter of the family. His dream was to wear police uniform. She used to run every morning, make herself strong and say that one day she will come out of poverty and helplessness. At the same time, ten year old Shivani was fast in studies. Science was his choice. Friends tell that she wanted to become a doctor. After her mother’s death due to appendix bursting, she had decided that she would save someone else’s mother by becoming a doctor.
Father was troubled by financial crisis
Amarnath Ram had already lost his wife. Financial constraints, debt and the burden of responsibility of five children had probably broken him from within. But this decision snatched away those innocent lives whose dreams were just learning to spread their wings. Now the question is, for how long will poverty, helplessness and ignorance of the system continue to swallow such dreams? Only Shivam and Chandan are left behind, who have a long life ahead of them, but also a very heavy one.
