According to the report of Hindi newspaper Dainik Bhaskar, the wife said- We both got married in October last year in Canada, came in contact with each other four years ago and also got married there. Four months later i.e. in February 2021, the father-in-law had a heart attack. After which we came to India. Here in May, the husband got corona. His lungs have become completely inactive after being infected. She has been on ventilator for two months. Three days ago, doctors told the family that there is no possibility of her husband’s health improving. He has only three days’ time.
‘Husband has only 24 hours’
According to the report, the wife said- ‘After this I told the doctors that I want to become a mother from my husband’s sperm, but they said that I cannot take sperm samples without the husband’s permission. I did not give up and I also got the support of my father-in-law. All three of us reached the High Court. While preparing to go to the High Court, we were told that the husband has only 24 hours.
The wife said, ‘We filed the petition on Monday. The petition reached before the bench on Tuesday. The court gave its verdict only after 15 minutes. However, the hospital says that they are still studying the decision. The court allowed the patient’s sperm to be collected and ordered the hospital to preserve it. However, the court has not allowed artificial insemination till further orders. The court is likely to hear the matter again on Thursday.
