Lok Sabha: Rahul challenges Home Minister for discussion, Shah says I will decide the order of my speech
Rahul and Shah clash in Lok Sabha, Home Minister hits back on allegations of vote theft, Rahul gives open challenge
New Delhi. There was a huge uproar in the Lok Sabha during the winter session of Parliament on Wednesday. There was a heated argument between Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. The case was related to allegations of ‘vote theft’ during the discussion on electoral reforms. Amit Shah completely rejected Rahul Gandhi’s claims in which he had raised questions on the Election Commission. On this, Rahul Gandhi gave a direct challenge to Amit Shah. He said that the Home Minister should discuss his three press conferences in Parliament. Rahul had recently alleged irregularities in the elections of Maharashtra, Haryana and Karnataka. Shah termed Rahul’s facts as completely ‘untrue’.
‘Nuclear bomb’ and the truth of 501 votes
During the discussion, Amit Shah took a dig at Rahul Gandhi. He said that the opposition leader had burst a ‘nuclear bomb’ in a press conference on November 5, 2025. Rahul had claimed that there are 501 votes in a single house in Haryana. Responding to this, Shah said that the Election Commission has made it clear that house number 265 is not a small house. It is a joint residence of several families built on an ancestral plot of one acre. Many generations live together there. Shah reminded that even when the Congress government was there, the number was the same. This is neither a fake house nor a fake vote.
‘Parliament will not run with your Munsifi’
During the debate, when Congress MPs started speaking, Amit Shah showed a strong attitude. He said that I have been in the Assembly and Parliament for 30 years. I have long experience in the parliamentary system. While giving advice to Rahul Gandhi, Shah said, ‘Parliament will not run with your opinion. I will decide the order of my speaking. He said that the opposition should be patient. At the same time, Rahul Gandhi described Shah’s reply as ‘nervous’ and ‘defensive’. Rahul said that the Home Minister is avoiding answering.
Attack on journalist, judge and EVM
Amit Shah accused Rahul Gandhi of calling journalists ‘agents of BJP’. He said that when questions are not as per their wish then journalists become agents. When people lose a case in court, they raise questions on the judge. When they lose elections, they oppose EVMs and when this argument does not work, they accuse them of vote theft. Shah also cornered the opposition on bringing impeachment motion against the judges.
impeachment motion against judge
Amit Shah mentioned the notice of impeachment motion against a judge of Madras High Court. 107 opposition MPs have given this notice. Shah said that after independence it never happened that a judge was impeached against any decision. This is only vote bank politics. He also expressed surprise at the signature of Shiv Sena (Ubhatha).
