Patna: Candidates preparing for physical for various competitive examinations including Bihar Police and Army have suffered a major setback at Gandhi Maidan in the capital. Divisional Commissioner and Chairman of Shri Krishna Smarak Vikas Samiti, Animesh Kumar Parashar, ordered the closure of coaching for physical training at Gandhi Maidan with immediate effect. Now these trainers will be able to give physical training to children in the plains along the banks of Ganga. This order of the district administration has had a direct impact on the preparation of the candidates. After the order, the team of Local 18 talked to many candidates preparing for Bihar Police. His pain was clearly visible in front of the camera. The candidates told that they are working hard day and night in the hope of getting a job. In such a situation, their focus is getting completely spoiled due to such orders.
However, no ban has been imposed on individual running or exercising. Candidates say that we are being advised to practice on the banks of Ganga Ghat, whereas the land there is sandy. Running on sand causes severe pain in the legs. Their preparation should be on level ground. Candidates say that in the current situation it seems that they will have to leave everything and return to the village.
Sir, I am a student, nothing comes easily.
Shivani Kumari, who is preparing for Bihar Police Physical, tells that she has a race in Gardnibagh Ground after two days. I have reached Gandhi Maidan to prepare for the final phase. Earlier, high jump practice was also done at Gandhi Maidan, but now mattresses and other necessary resources have been removed by the administration. This has definitely increased some problems. However, Shivani further says, ‘It will be managed, because only the one who struggles wins’. He says that Gandhi Maidan is the only place in the capital Patna where flat ground is available for practice, which is like a final running track. Despite this, candidates are being advised to practice in the Ganga Ghat areas, where running becomes very difficult due to sandy soil. Shivani believes that if the administration makes the areas of Ganga Ghat suitable for running properly, then the candidates will not face any kind of problem. He said, ‘We are all students and working hard is our habit. No matter what the place is, we will not give up our hard work.
No problem with fair, rally, problem with our practice
At the same time, Shubham Kumar, who is preparing for the Bihar Police race, says that the race process has started. In such a situation, many preparations including high jump are still incomplete. Meanwhile, the administration has removed the mattresses and other training equipment used in training from Gandhi Maidan. The candidates have also paid the fees to the trainers, but now the situation is such that some are taking them for training on the sandy ground towards Ganga Ghat, while others are forced to conduct the practice somewhere else.
This order has a direct impact on preparation
Shubham says that in the last days, this is not only disturbing the focus but is also directly affecting the preparation. He said that Gandhi Maidan is a public place, where fairs, rallies and many other big programs are organised. When so many programs do not cause any kind of problem, then what problem can there be in the youth practicing them? Everyone has the right to come to Gandhi Maidan. Shubham further said that the reason given by the administration is the damage to the grass and the presence of potholes in the field. He raised the question that when fairs and rallies do not spoil the grass, is it because of our running that the grass is getting spoiled?
Such orders in the last days, focus is getting disturbed
Amit Kumar says that in today’s time, getting a job in itself has become very difficult. In such a situation, when thousands of candidates are working hard to get a job, then such orders are going to divert their attention. They are being advised to practice by going towards Enta Ghat, where the ground is sandy. Running on such a surface freezes the feet, whereas preparing for the race requires flat and strong ground. In such circumstances it becomes very difficult to practice. If any kind of injury occurs during this period, our life and career will be ruined.
How will practice be done on sandy ground?
Raja Kumar, resident of Jehanabad, is preparing for Bihar Police by staying in Patna. These days, he is working hard for the race. He says that Gandhi Maidan is the only place in Patna where practice can be done properly. For this reason there is a lot of crowd here. Candidates from every corner of Patna reach Gandhi Maidan for practice. He further said that now it is being heard that the candidates will not be allowed to run and practice in Gandhi Maidan. In such a situation, we do not know where to go. Despite being a student of BN College, the gate is closed there also. Practicing is not allowed even in the grounds of Patna Science College. Under compulsion, we are now being asked to run on the sand towards Enta Ghat.
Will go to village, but will not leave practice
Raja Kumar tells that if the situation continues like this then he will have to go back to the village to prepare for the race, because there is no space left in Patna. One of his friends also told that if the solution to this problem is not found, then everyone will be forced to return to the village, but will not leave their practice under any circumstances. He further said that the administration says that there is a lot of space around Ganga Ghat and one should go there and run the race. Whereas we have to conduct the final race on a ground whose ground is completely flat. There is sand towards the Ganga Ghat. If you practice on sand, you will face difficulty in running on a flat ground and your timing will also be affected. Apart from this, preparations for the high jump have also come to a complete halt. Running in the sand is causing pain in the legs and facing a lot of problems.
