Families will now be able to hire policemen on payment to prevent traffic jams during weddings in Haldwani. For which Nainital Police has issued a new guideline. For which you will have to apply in the SSP office.
nainital : Nainital Police has issued a new guideline to deal with the increasing traffic jam during weddings in Haldwani. Now families organizing wedding ceremonies can hire uniformed policemen for traffic and crowd management if they wish. For this, the concerned police station will be deployed by paying a fee equal to their daily salary. Officials say that this arrangement will help in preventing traffic jams caused by slow moving wedding processions and vehicles of guests.
Nainital SP (Crime) Jagdish Chandra said that for the deployment of policemen, families will have to apply to the SSP office, in which the details of the banquet hall and the date of the program will have to be mentioned. He said that the objective is to ensure that the joys of weddings do not become a hindrance in the movement of common people. Families can also manage traffic with the help of paid police deployment, private security or volunteers.
The responsibilities of wedding organisers, DJ operators and venue owners have also been fixed in the new guidelines. Under court orders, a strict time limit of 10 pm will be in place for DJs and loud sound systems. The police clarified that disruption of general traffic due to the procession would be considered a violation of rules. Vehicle-mounted DJs and generator-powered decorative lights, which become a nuisance on the road, have been completely banned.
Families have been requested to keep the procession to the main roads for a short period and conduct most of the festive activities inside the venue. Police said the slow-moving processions repeatedly block main roads and hamper the movement of emergency vehicles. Such complaints have increased significantly in the current wedding season.
Banquet halls and wedding processions have been instructed to install CCTV and complete police verification of all employees. Police also said that venue owners should ensure adequate parking arrangements, as vehicles parked on the road will be considered a violation of the order.
