Greater Noida News: Greater Noida Authority has increased strictness against those throwing garbage on the roadside. Cleaning teams are identifying the culprits by finding evidence containing bills, packets and addresses from the garbage heaps. Despite door-to-door collection, direct action is now being taken against those throwing garbage outside.
Greater Noida : Greater Noida Authority has now taken a big step against the ongoing negligence regarding cleanliness in Greater Noida. To keep the city clean and beautiful, the authority has made its cleanliness drive more stringent than ever. For a long time, complaints were coming to the fore that despite door-to-door garbage collection system, some people throw garbage outside their homes on the roadside or in the streets instead of giving it to the collection vehicle at the scheduled time. Due to this, along with the spread of filth in the city, the risk of disease also increases. Taking this problem seriously, the authority has now started a new initiative. The initiative to find evidence against the culprits from the garbage heap itself.
The teams of the cleanliness department of the authority are conducting regular campaigns in the sectors these days. Wherever heaps of garbage are found, the team first searches garbage sacks and bags. The surprising thing is that along with the garbage, such evidence has been found at many places, from which the person or house concerned can be easily identified. This includes online delivery packaging, bills, addressed envelopes and other papers. On the basis of this evidence, the authority is taking action by reaching the houses of the culprits.
Officials say that if a mistake is found for the first time, a challan of up to Rs 500 is issued, but if a person does it again, the amount of fine will be even higher. This step has been taken because even after warnings, notices and awareness campaigns, many people were not able to change their habits. ACEO Srilakshmi VS said that door-to-door garbage collection is being done every day at fixed times in many sectors. Despite this, people throw the garbage on the road instead of giving it to the vehicle, which hampers the cleanliness system. He said that initially people are being warned and explained, but in future, penalty will also be imposed under the rules of solid waste management.
Told that this strictness is not just to collect fine, but its purpose is to bring change in people’s habits. If every citizen shows a little responsibility and puts garbage only in designated vehicles or dustbins, then there can be a big improvement in both the cleanliness and health level of the city. In the coming days, this campaign will be run on an even larger scale, so that Greater Noida can be made a clean and safe city.
