According to the Money Control report, SEBI has received complaints from several retail investors associations that small investors are mostly unable to invest in good IPOs. He said the biggest reason for this is the fixed amount for a lot. They say that if the amount of a lot is reduced, then small investors will be able to invest more money. According to sources, SEBI can reduce the minimum application size from Rs 15,000 to Rs 7000-8000. If the investment amount is less then more investors will want to subscribe.

In the year 2020, many such IPOs were successful, in which small investors invested large amount of money. The IPO of Happiest Minds Technologies was included in the most successful public issue last year. It was subscribed 150 times by the fixed size. Retail investors were subscribed 70.94 times in this. At the same time, the IPO of Bectors Food, which was introduced in the year 2021, was subscribed 68 times over the fixed size.
