Varanasi: Cold has now started increasing in Uttar Pradesh. Icy winds have increased the melting. People have no relief even in sweaters and shawls at night. The minimum temperature has also dropped to 8 degrees Celsius. Even the afternoon sun has now started feeling lukewarm. Amidst all this, the Indian Meteorological Department i.e. IMD has predicted that with the beginning of December, the temperature in UP may fall further. Along with this, the blanket of fog can engulf the entire state.
It is forecast that on Wednesday there will be rain in Kanpur, Kaushambi, Chitrakoot, Prayagraj, Pratapgarh, Rampur, Bareilly, Shamli, Agra, Pilibhit, Moradabad, Bijnor, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, Firozabad, Unnao, Hamirpur, Kannauj, Mainpuri, Etawah, Sitapur, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Aligarh, Mathura, Varanasi, Ayodhya, Meerut, The morning may start with light fog in Jhansi, Sultanpur, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur and Ghazipur. The maximum temperature in these districts is likely to be around 28 and the minimum around 10 degrees Celsius.

BHU meteorologist Professor Manoj Kumar Srivastava said that the cold has increased in UP due to the changing direction of winds. However, there will be no significant change in the maximum and minimum temperatures here in the next 7 days. But if snowfall continues in the mountains, the cold will increase in UP in the coming days and the temperature will also drop.
