The United States Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lutnik, said this in an interview with ABC News. This statement came at a time when President Donald Trump’s fee has caused a stir throughout the world.

Lutnik said: “We should not depend on China for our essential things. Our medications and semiconductors should be done in the United States.”

Temporary discounts given to electronic things and chips
Last Friday (April 11), the Trump administration gave temporary discounts from rates imposed on some electronic things. This brought relief to large technology companies such as Apple, because these companies depend a lot on the pieces and finished products that come from abroad. Customs and border protection of the United States issued a notice to exempt some tariff things. In addition to this, these machines were also exempt that are used to make semiconductors. Lutnik made it clear that this exemption is simply temporary.
