UP Visibility: Dense fog is being seen in many districts of UP including the capital Lucknow. The weather department has also issued an alert. There are chances of further increase in cold from 25th December. Today visibility was zero in Agra, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Unnao and Kanpur also. The situation may remain similar tomorrow also. After two days of slight relief the swelling will increase again. There is a warning of cold day in 10 districts.
Varanasi. The entire North India is in the grip of severe cold. Visibility has become zero at Varanasi airport in UP. This situation has been going on for the last one hour. There has been a huge decline in visibility at the airport since sunset. Many flights were affected in Varanasi on Monday due to dense fog. Air India flight was cancelled. The intensity of the fog was so high that no plane could land till 12 noon. Dense fog alert has been issued in many districts of UP including Lucknow. There are chances of further increase in cold from 25th December. During this period, visibility will be low in Lucknow and surrounding areas.
Today visibility was zero in Agra, Ayodhya, Prayagraj, Unnao and Kanpur also. There is no possibility of any improvement in the situation tomorrow (Tuesday). The Meteorological Department says that there will be a slight increase in temperature due to western disturbance. However, there will be no respite from fog. Meanwhile, after two days of slight relief the melting will increase again. According to the Meteorological Department, the cold will intensify with north-westerly winds from Thursday. Orange alert has been issued in 18 districts including Prayagraj, Kanpur yesterday.
There is also orange alert in Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar.
Orange alert has also been issued for Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Kanpur Dehat and Kanpur Nagar. Same situation will prevail in Agra, Firozabad, Etawah, Auraiya, Bareilly and Pilibhit. Orange alert has been issued for these districts also. Cold weather warning has been issued in 10 districts including Varanasi and Sultanpur.
