Apostle Mansingh, Secretary of IOM organization, says that social service has been a tradition of his family for generations and he is carrying it forward. Nitika Dhiman says that its biggest strength is that it identifies skills based on the person’s interest and local geography. That means the skill changes according to every district. For example, in Tripura, there is more demand for driving training, whereas in other places, people are taught skills like making sweets, soap-candles, making Rudraksha beads and papads. The trainers of the organization first assess the interest and condition of the person, then out of 5-6 major skills, he is given the course which is most suitable for both his field and future. The organization also helps in providing employment immediately after learning the skill, so that youth and women can become self-reliant.
This is how women are being promoted
Apostle Mansingh told that at present 6 to 7 thousand volunteers across the country are taking this mission forward by becoming a part of the Aiyom family. Not only this, great work has also been done through the policy education initiative of the organization. Through this platform, it was advocated to universalize the public distribution system in the country, as a result of which approximately 80 to 81.35 crore people were benefited, and this facility has been ensured till 2029. The organization calls this an achievement of the government, and they have had technical support in this policy change. Nitika Dhiman says that Aiyom is especially working seriously on the education, skill development and empowerment of women. Our effort is that every woman stands on her own feet, creates her own identity and moves forward in her life.
