Shimla. “There are no grains to eat, Amma has gone to roast them.” This saying fits the Sukhu government. The state is facing economic crisis and the government is wasting money in fairs and carnivals. The latest matter is regarding Kangra Carnival. Here the Sukhu government has announced to organize a carnival from 24th to 31st December, but has now appealed for help to raise money.
Actually, Kangra District Food Supply Department wrote in its order that a letter was sent by DC on 18th November and now the administration is going to organize Kangra Valley Carnival. Tourism and culture will be promoted during this program. In such a situation, for the success of this program the administration needs financial assistance from all of you. It is written in the orders that help can be provided before the stipulated time. These orders have been issued by Food and Supply Department District Controller Purushottam Singh.
On behalf of Food and Supply Department District Controller Purushottam Singh, donations have been sought from all the petrol pumps, gas agencies, HPTL license holders, rice and flour millers, brick kiln operators of the district.

Congress government is extorting money in the name of carnival: Sudhir Sharma
He wrote, “Those who show off by demanding extortion, one day this curtain will be lifted from your faces too.” Sudhir Sharma raised the question whether it is not the responsibility of the government to organize the carnival? Was no provision made for this in the budget? And if not, why are donations being sought on government letterhead? Former CM Jairam Thakur also shared the letter issued in this regard and raised questions.
On November 22, the local administration had sought donations from the Panchayats for organizing the Renuka Ji Fair of Sirmaur.
Renuka ji had also asked for donations for the fair.
It is noteworthy that earlier on November 22, the local administration had sought donations from the Panchayats for organizing the Renuka Ji Fair of Sirmaur and had officially issued a letter. Later, lakhs of rupees were paid to Punjabi singers in the fair. The most important thing is that money is wasted by inviting Punjabi singers in these events and then the government keeps complaining about the economic crisis regarding the development works of the state.
