On January 1, if a person retires from his daily work and performs Havan with Veda mantras, then the atmosphere of the house becomes pure and positive. This maintains mental peace, health and happiness throughout the year.
How does Havan remove negative energy?
According to Pandit Shridhar Shastri, when the medicinal materials used in Havan like Havan Samidha, herbs, ghee and other liquids are offered as offerings in the fire, then the smoke emanating from them purifies the environment. This smoke not only purifies the air, but is also considered helpful in removing mental stress, negative thoughts and Vaastu defects. Havan brings positive energy into the house and reduces family disputes, planetary obstacles and negative effects.
Method of Havan described in Vedas
A certain method of Havan has been mentioned in the Vedas and scriptures. For this, it is necessary to first collect the havan material and retire from all work with a calm mind. After this a total of eight mantras are chanted. A special mantra is also chanted for lighting the fire. When the fire is lit, five offerings of desi ghee are made along with Mahamrityunjaya Mantra or Gayatri Mantra. After this, medicinal materials are sacrificed and Gayatri Mantra is recited on every sacrifice.

Pandit Shridhar Shastri says that if all the members of the family participate in the Havan and make offerings, then its effect increases even more. By doing this, the obstacles in attaining education are removed, financial problems are reduced and happiness and peace is maintained in the house.
