Nita Ambani in Swadesh Event: Recently, Reliance Foundation founder-chairperson Nita Ambani organized a grand event in Mumbai. The name of this event was ‘Swadesh’, in which artists, skilled artisans, craftsmen including fashion designers and many Bollywood stars from across the country participated. India’s rich craft heritage took center stage at Swadesh’s Decembering celebrations. In this festival, Nita Ambani praised this installation made of handmade toys, clothes, wooden artefacts and sculptures made by skilled artisans from across the country. Nita Ambani always believes in giving respect to Indian craftsmanship and its artisans. He believes that it is possible to keep these traditions alive only because of the skilled artisans of the country.
Nita Ambani hosted ‘Swadesh’ event to promote traditional and indigenous arts. During this time Nita Ambani looked very beautiful. In the program, she was wearing Swadesh’s mixed peacock blue and silver colored Banarasi saree. Beautiful work was done on this saree with fine Meena motifs and traditional Kadhua weaving technique. Nita Ambani looked very beautiful in a custom Manish Malhotra design blouse with a polki border, hand-made deity buttons and vintage spinel tassels from her personal collection, and a bindiya on her forehead.
Many National Award winning artisans were present along with Mrs. Nita Ambani in this event. This included Padma Shri awardee (2021) Shri Biren Basak, who is famous for Tant and Jamdani weaving. Sri V. Panneerselvam Thanjavur painter was present. He has been honored with Shilp Guru Award (2019) and National Award (2011). Along with this, Shri Shammi Bannu Sharma, seventh generation miniature painter and National President Awardee (2014) was also present. Along with this, Mr. Ghanshyam Sarode, famous Paithani textile designer and handloom revivalist and Ms. Gunjan Jain, Odisha Ikat textile artist and National Award winner (2024) were also present.

Many film stars including the country’s famous fashion designer Manish Malhotra also participated in this program. Many big celebrities including Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit-Shriram Nene, Sonam Kapoor, Ananya Pandey, Jhanvi Kapoor, Genelia D’Souza-Riteish Deshmukh, National Crush Aneet Padda also became a part of this beautiful evening. All of them looked very beautiful in traditional clothes. All of these caught everyone’s attention at the Swadesh flagship store event.
