New government’s ‘good governance bet’
As soon as Samrat Chaudhary assumed office, he took decisions like reviving the Anti Romeo Squad and increasing the deployment of Pink Police. But the biggest shock is going to prepare a list of 400 big criminals and mafia leaders. These names identified from different districts of the state include land mafia, liquor mafia, extortion gang, arms smugglers and criminals receiving political patronage. Samrat Chaudhary said, we will take forward the good governance of Nitish Kumar and criminals will not get any exemption. Special surveillance will be kept on the jails, so that no organized activity can take place.
Action on two, wait for the rest
Samrat Chaudhary said that as soon as the list of mafia was prepared, action has been started against two mafia leaders on the orders of the court. Once the court’s approval is received, strict action will be taken against the remaining 398. The Home Minister warned that property acquired through crime would be confiscated. According to the information, the list of mafias has been prepared by the special team of the Home Department which is based on the crime data of different districts. These are said to include land mafia, liquor traders, extortion gangs, arms suppliers and criminals with political patronage.
damage to the economic power of crime
The main weapon of the campaign will be to confiscate the property of criminals. The properties related to this list of 400 names are being monitored. After the court’s decision, action will be taken like bulldozer action which will break the economic power of the mafia. The government’s focus is not just on arrests but on attacking the economic roots of crime. Under this, records of illegal properties of the mafias whose list has been prepared are being collected. As soon as the court orders are received, action will be taken to confiscate or demolish it.
